Trained at The Royal Birmimgham Conservatoire, Richard acted at an early age before making the difficult decision to follow a professional sporting career.

After the 2012 Olympic Games, Richard returned to his passion of acting, studying at the Actors Workshop (affiliate of the TV Workshop) between 2012-2015, before formally retiring from Sport in 2015 to take up a place at Drama School (The Royal Birmimgham Conservatoire) where he completed his formal actor training.

During training Richard also passed his BASSC Stage Combat awards in Unarmed and Rapier and Dagger and continued to advance his knowledge outside of the Drama School taking, Film, Television, Radio and Corporate acting workshops.

Richard's acting benefits from experience as a filmmaker as prior to switching full time to acting he was employed producing promotional, educational and viral films for British Athletics, England Athletics and Scottish Athletics.

Richard has since produced and Directed several short films which have won awards at various festivals.

Whilst enjoying and excelling in film work, Richard has a passion for stage craft, seeing the value in rehearsal time and the feedback from audiences.
